Time For an Update!

It’s August again! The summer is quickly coming to it’s last couple weeks before a new school year begins. With that in mind, we are here to give an update on the end of the 24-25 school year, ongoing Summer Bible School, and the status of the clinic in Dariol. Programming at Gospel Growers continues to operate despite ongoing troubles in the capital and surrounding areas of Haiti. Our school support programs, radio station, and church programs are jiving, and our Haitian friends regularly check in and update Sam, our president, about the ongoing work. We are grateful to all the Haitian men and women who keep the programs running!

At the eight schools Gospel Growers supports, the school year ended strong as the students continue to thrive because of the ongoing generosity of so many. Below, we have highlighted several of the kindergarten graduations that took place this past June. You can find images and videos of the graduations at Grisgris School (Yellow), Bodary School (Dark Blue), Dariol School (Light Green), Dubois School (White & Blue Caps), and Meteye School (Orange). Students, teachers, and parents alike came together to celebrate this momentous occasion as the students finished their first year of school. All were proud of the accomplishments of these future leaders of Haiti!

Several of the schools that Gospel Growers support have run Summer Bible School for the children. You can find images of games being played at Labiche, meals prepared for students at Dubois, and a very cute video of the students singing “Papa Abraham” at Dubois.

Apologies for the sidewards video! Papa Abraham at Dubois School.

With the help of Gospel Growers, this young Christian man (a friend of Gospel Growers) was able to attend vocational school to learn how to drive. He will now be able to use his skills to provide for his needs! He was supported as a child at Koray School, and he now helps operate the radio station. Education in the area abounds, improving the lives of many Haitians.

Finally, there is a short update about the health clinic in Dariol. The clinic recently had to shut its’ doors because of lack of staffing. Gospel Growers is looking for a new nurse to take over the clinic so that its’ doors can reopen. We ask for prayer over this situation.

We are endlessly grateful here at Gospel Growers for the ongoing support of our sponsors and partners. The work wouldn’t be possible without your help! Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns about the work. We pray for ongoing capacity and support and know that it is by God’s guidance and provision that we are capable of the work being done. As the summer winds down, we are hopeful for a new school year and grateful for all that God will provide!

If you have a minute, take a listen to the radio station! It provides encouragement and joy to many of the residents in the surrounding areas with it’s upbeat and inspirational jams. Links to listen can be found on the front page of our website. Enjoy!
