Summer Update!

As I sit here on this Sunday morning, I’m enjoying the music of Anne Wilson and feeling inspired by her songs “My Jesus” and “This House.” Her lyrics ring so clear in my soul and inspire me as I reflect on the last few months at Gospel Growers.

“He makes a way where there ain't no way
Rises up from an empty grave
Ain't no sinner that He can't save
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
His love is strong and His grace is free
And the good news is I know that He
Can do for you what He's done for me
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
And let my Jesus change your life

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Amen” -Anne Wilson

“You could lay bricks
You could dig a foundation
You could build up 10, 000 feet tall
But if it don't stand on the word of the Lord, this house gonna fall

You could put a cross right up on the steeple
You could stain glass on every wall
But if it don't stand on the word of the Lord, this house gonna fall” - Anne Wilson

What an honor to be a part of an organization that strives to operate from these truths.

UPDATES:

It’s hard to believe the summer is coming to an end here soon, and we will be jumping back into the school year. There have been quite a few updates the last few months, and this entry will share pictures and updates as the summer months come to a close.

First and foremost, Dariol, Dubois, and GrisGris shared some photos of their last couple weeks of the 25-26 school year. In the following photos you can see the report card ceremony at GrisGris and the graduation ceremonies at Dubois and Dariol. Another successful school year in the books as they prepare for the upcoming year! We are thankful to our sponsors for helping make this possible.

Over the summer, Dubois hosted a summer Bible school that was well attended. You can see the children in attendance and a meal shared during the event in the following photos. This was a great opportunity for our students to learn about Jesus during the summer months. The program was much like the programming of vacation Bible schools held throughout the US.

Radio Semence was busy this summer, continuing with their programs that inspire and uplift. The volunteer staff attended a seminar to learn new techniques on broadcasting methods, and this past week they celebrated the anniversary of the station! The celebration was well attended and hosts were honored for their commitment and service to the radio station. Listen here for some Caribbean Christian music flair and to check in on regular updates at the station.

Finally, a few months back we shared the sad news of the passing of Pastor Rodriguez Paul at Meteye Church. This past month, the church has appointed a new pastor who will Shepard the church. The church committee met with him in mid-August as he takes on this new role to lead the people.

Meet Pastor Oliver Francois and his young family!

We ask for prayers as this transition takes place and prayers for Pastor Oliver Francois and his family as they take on this large calling.

It’s been a busy summer here at Gospel Growers, and we’re grateful as always for continued support. If you as an individual or any church communities would like to support the upcoming school year, please get in touch with us! We are grateful reflecting back on all that has transpired this summer, and we look forward to next school year to come!

“Faith to move the mountains
It ain't about the mountains
It's when the least of these
And the neighbor sees
That we genuinely love them

Maybe there's a bigger purpose
We've been given
Something different

Ain't talkin' 'bout a Sunday only, actin' holy
Easy kinda faith
Ain't talkin 'bout a barely going through the motions
Empty kinda praise
I'm talking 'bout a heart that looks like Jesus
Like His hands, like His feet
There's one Way, one Truth, one Life that sets us free
But that's what we need.” -Anne Wilson
